Danielle Evennou is president of the board of investigators president of the DC women's spoken word organization mothertongue, and is a co-host of Sparkle: a queer-driven reading series for all. Evennou is the recipient of a 2010 Young Artist Grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Her first chapbook, Queen of Tuesday, is slated for release in Summer 2010. Her poetry has appeared in Blue Collar Review, Objet d' Art, and Xenith. Essays on U.S. Poet Laureate Kay Ryan and mothertongue have been published in Beltway Poetry Quarterly, where her poem “See It, Say It” will appear later in 2010.
