Spunk [arts] Magazine, founded in New York City in 2003, is an art journal specializing in original artwork and memoir-style writing. With seven wonderful issues already under its belt, Spunk released their eighth issue this summer. We here at the Lambda Literary Review have been lucky enough to get our hands on the latest issue, and of course, we want to share it with you.

In this excerpt, ‘Andragon,’ author/musician Joseph Keckler explores issues of gender, desire, and identity in the Midwest. The sardonic story, which comes to a ravishing climax, is sprinkled with poetic language and humorous moments that make it quite the read.
