December’s Most Anticipated LGBTQIA+ Literature

2023 is going out with a BANG! If you are looking for a gift for the reader in your life (including yourself!), we have got an amazing list of brand new books, sure to hit for any and all your cravings. An impressive amount of Lammy finalists and winners have some fantastic books coming out this month, including Melissa Scott, Ronica Black, Joseph Hansen, Gerri Hill, Nan Campbell, David Bergman, and Bushra Rehman.

We also are excited about Writers in Schools author Isabel Millán’s Coloring into Existence: Queer of Color Worldmaking in Children’s Literature. As the press states, “Coloring into Existence explores the curious ways that queer and trans of color publications ‘color outside the lines.'”

And it is bittersweet but with pride that our former fellow, the late Anthony Veasna So has published Songs on Endless Repeat: Essays and Outtakes. This posthumous collection contains new fiction and essays, and we are so honored to have more of his voice in our lives.
